A 40-year-old man has been charged with failing to stop after a police pursuit through Kawerau last night.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle near the intersection with Fenton and Onslow Street a police spokesperson confirmed.
“The man has been charged with failing to stop when followed by flashing red and blue lights and driving in a dangerous manner.”
The man will appear in Whakatane District Court on Tuesday.
EARLIER
Two people are now in custody following a police chase in Kawerau tonight.
A driver failed to stop for a routine traffic stop, a Police spokesperson said.
“The car was pursued briefly before coming to a stop near Fenton and Onslow Street – two people are now into custody.”
