Four youths have been taken into custody after a Police chase this afternoon near Opotiki.
At 3.15 pm, a car stopped in Stanley Road as a police car came up behind it, a Police spokesperson says.
“When the officer went to speak to the driver, the car drove away. Police pursued the car, at low speed, and road spikes were deployed in McCoy Road.”
“The fleeing car came to a stop after being spiked in McCoy Road, and four youths from the car fled on foot.”
The offenders were located by officers shortly after and have been taken into custody.
