Kiwis all over the country are finding ways to say thanks during the Covid-19 lockdown.

Thanks to essential workers, thanks to volunteers, thanks to teachers and thanks to those who have gone the extra mile to make things possible or a little easier during this unprecedented time.

Whakatāne High School prefects have said thanks to their teachers today. In a Facebook post, prefects hold up individual messages teachers and staff.

The post says; “We appreciate and thank you all for making our education a priority. Nga mihi aroha kia koutou katoa.”

Signs thanking essential workers have also been left around Whakatāne including one on the fence bordering Rex Morpeth Park and another just past the bridge on the way out of town.

On behalf of News Whakatāne, we thank everyone who has helped someone else during the past few weeks.
