The 10th annual Rangtaiki River Festival will take place today at Thornton Domain.
Hundreds of anglers are expected for the popular Rangitaiki River Festival Kahawai Competition and keen kina eaters are set to compete in the Rangitaiki River Festival Kina Eating Competition.
The event organised by Edgecumbe Lions and Bluelight will also include a Tug-of-war competition, Rangitaiki Tours Treasure Hunt and Driftwood Competition as well as food stalls.
The event will kick off from 9.30 am until 4.pm.

Classics at Ohope – 12 PM – 4 PM
If everything 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond is your thing, gather the family and head down to Classics at Ohope.
With a fun-filled array of Classic Cars & Retro Caravans on display, Rock n Roll dancing, Street Food & Craft Beer and Vintage Market Stalls.
Just a gold coin donation to attend, all proceeds will go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities New Zealand.
The event will kick off at 12pm at 361 Harbour Road Ohope.

Opotiki Harbour Celebration 4 PM – 8 PM
Sons of Zion will headline the Opotiki Harbour Celebration in Opotiki today.
The street party organised by the Opotiki District Council will be held in the middle of Elliot Street and include a line up of local entertainers and food stalls.
The celebration comes after the government announced a $79.4 million for the new harbour development.
The event will kick off at 4 pm until 8 pm.
