The temporary overnight camping area established at The Hub last week has now closed. All those who were staying at the Hub have now been found alternative accommodation. Welfare staff from the Council’s Emergency Operation Centre have been working with other agencies and accommodation providers to make this happen. Portaloos and a rubbish skip are being removed from the site.
Anyone who doesn’t have a place to self-isolate is asked to contact the Temporary Accommodation Service on 0508 754 163, or the Bay of Plenty Civil Defence Emergency Management helpline 0800 882 222.
