The first was a serious assault in Ruatoki.
Police launched an investigation after an assault in Ruatoki that was reported at 11.30pm on Friday. As a result of the assault, a person was airlifted to Waikato Hospital in a serious condition.
Police would not comment on whether the assault was connected to last week’s murder in Taneatua.
A Police spokesperson said enquiries were ongoing and anyone with information about this incident was urged to contact Police on 105 and quote case number 220219/6052.
The second was reported shortly after 9pm on Saturday night when Police responded to an incident in Kawerau in which one person with serious injuries was airlifted to Tauranga Hospital.
