A 31-year-old man has died following a stabbing in Waiohau around 2am, this morning.
Police are following lines of enquiry and want anyone to come forward who may have witnessed the incident, a Police spokesperson said.
“We encourage anyone to contact us immediately with any information which can assist with this investigation.”
A local resident told News Whakatane that a Police cordon is in place surrounding the Marae and Rugby club.
